A LUMINE MOTUS

Light is my passion and I have always considered it as one of the most fascinating media to observe and experiment with. I use Light as an instrument to express myself through installations, sculptures and design lamps.

Thanks to the knowledge and experience I acquired during my Master’s degree at “Sapienza University” in Rome, my original interest for Light has become an all-encompassing passion and a precise career path.

A three-year-long apprenticeship at the Lighting Design Studio “Fabertechnica” in Rome, and a working semester at the National Theatre of Finland “Kansallisteatteri” in Helsinki gave me the opportunity to hone my skills in a professional and international environment. In Helsinki, in particular, I discovered a strong affinity for theater and the essential role that light plays in it. In this sense, the teachings and advice of my guide and employer Pietu Pietiäinen, the award-winning Finnish lighting designer, were fundamental.

More recently I have had the chance to work as Chief Lighting Designer and Technician at ACUD theater in Berlin, collaborating with the American-Japanese dancer, choreographer and director Max Levy.

Besides learning and applying the use of Light in artistic contexts, I’ve also focused my attention to the lighting medium as a tool to improve the quality of landscapes and enhance the visual strength of art exhibitions, thanks to the workshops I attended in Rome (Rhode Island School Design Winter Session and the Social Lightscape Workshop by the London School of Economics and Political Science).
